2022 WORLD HAND HYGIENE DAY CELEBRATION

The Federal Medical Centre, Birnin Kebbi has celebrated the 2022 World Hand Hygiene Day in a grand style on the 5th of May, 2022 in Birnin Kebbi the State Capital of Kebbi State. Speaking during Interactive Session, the Medical Director, Dr Aliyu Hamza Balarabe extolled the virtues of Hand Hygiene as one of the most important component of personal healthcare in any given society. The Medical Director who spoke through the Head of Clinical Services, Dr Taslim O Lawal commended the NCDC for partnering with WHO in creating awareness on the importance of Hand Hygiene in the communities. He called on all stakeholders to unite for safety and ensure Hand Hygiene became part of routine activities amongst members of the Hospital Community. During the Clinical Presentation at the Main Auditorium Hall of the Hospital, the Presenter, Dr Aliyu M Na'uzo a Consultant Paediatrician, x-rays the theme for year ' A Healthcare "Quality and Safety Climate or Culture" that values Hand Hygiene and Infections Prevention and Control' He highlighted according to order of importance, the need to inculcate hand washing as basic principles of personal hygiene among the society. Highlights include Lectures, Health talks on Hand washing protocols, Snap photos at various Wards and Clinics including Clinical Departments and Office within the Directorate of Administration. Other activity during the event is the presentation of members of the Infections, Prevention and Control Committee, IPC to the Hospital Community. Personalities at the event were the Deputy Head of Clinical Services, Dr Hope Abitare and Chairman Hospital Clinical Presentation Committee, Dr M. D. Zubairu. Others are Director of Administration, Alh, Sama'ila M Sama, Head of Nursing Services, Alh. Farouk Umar Abdullahi and Hospital Union Leaders.
