Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine Department is one of the pioneer departments at the inception of the hospital in 2000. The department attends to adult patients with medical illnesses by coordinating and running medical out-patients’ clinics, medical emergency, renal care centre and infectious diseases isolation centre. What started as a small department with no specialist in Internal Medicine has expanded to become a department with many consultant physicians who are providing specialist medical care in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Nephrology and Neurology. The department also engages in training of medical house officers and is in the process of obtaining accreditation for residency training of post graduate medical doctors. The department is currently led by Dr. Amina Lawal Bello who is a fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
